Hey Melanie. How you doing? I hope this finds you well. I think that is sooo kool that your driveway will have a gate! Instead of getting a regular steel gate, I think you should totally splurge(if you can) and get some kind of fancy gate. I am trying to think of one offhand…maybe a wooden one that kind of has some kind of vintage, rustic, homey and welcoming look to it. Just something that is different from all other gates. But that is all up to you guys. I saw that picture up there and that idea just popped into my head.
Things are ok here. Hey. I got SSI! $733/month and my back pay is $10,200. We are going to be ok. My fiancee. Chris, wants to get his license straightened out, he has some tickets and had his license taken away and made a stupid mistake a few years back and mine got suspended over $100 I owe on a ticket still from five years ago…NYState is just horrid and cruel like that. And then of course take care of our back bills first and foremost as well on the 01 November when I my payment. And then Chris wants to get a $4000 truck. He is tired of walking to work and winter is coming up and all and I don’t blame him. So everything is started to fall in place. And we will have a good Christmas for his son and I will be able to buy my parents and my three younger sisters all presents this year. It has been some time since i have been able to do that. It will make me feel good 🙂 Chris also got his hours changed at work. Instead of working from 10-2 and 5-11(double shift) he now just works 9-4. He works in a restaurant so he would come home during the afternoon when they didn’t get a lot of customers and have a few hours break. His boss thought that everyone working double shifts were getting burned out and I agree with him. So having Chris home during the evening will be good for him and as well as me too.
So, I gotta run. Cleaning is calling grrr 🙁 Hope to hear from you soon. Take care. Friends forever xoxoxoxo luv ya
I was praying you for you and your family, GOD has you in the palm of his hand never forget that you are a child of Jesus Christ and GOD will take care of you! Work on getting well now and things will turn around for you as they did for me, GOD loves all his children.
Depending on how much money is available I want to have a metal gate built with Donkeys on one side and Horses on the other. Just purchasing the land took most of the settlement money from the semi-truck accident so we have to be careful. I am disabled for the rest of my life but not dead, I can’t wait to start my new business Donkey Whisperer Farm, LLC, virtual training, coaching and consulting and on-site classes I pray one day.
I plan on having classes, conferences, speakers (hoof care, health, saddle fitting and more) come into the farm when it is completed and do some teaching myself of course. Our driveway needs to be wide enough for all the people bringing in their equine to pull in off the highway and come into our farm. I will also be giving riding to the disabled I pray. Helping kids, families enjoy the farm and learn about farm work, care of donkeys, horses and mules.
Thank you for the update!
Big hug!

Hi Melanie. Thanks for the prayers! They really did help out and with the prayers of others, we prevailed this storm.
I love your gate idea! That is going to look awesome if you are able to get it.
My sister is handicapped. She has mental retardation and cerebral palsy. For years and years she took therapeutic riding lessons with an instructor about half an hour away. She was certified to do therapeutic riding and regular lessons. We took our lessons from her too. It really helped my sister out by helping ease her muscles and to just relax. I know from watching the other handicapped kids she gave lessons to that they really benefited from it and their parents would always have praises for her and even said it helped out at home physically, behavioral, and emotionally too. I am so glad that you are going to be doing that along with regular lessons. Those instructors are few and far between. As far as I know, she is the only one in the area.
It has turned frightfully cold here. The temperature has dropped down to the 40s and the wind chill is 21F. That awful white stuff is expected to land tomorrow mixed with rain. Don’t say the word! It’s a bad, vulgar word and you might jinx it LOL 😀 We want it to stay away as long as possible.
Have a great day, my dear friend! Talk soon hugs
I understand as I am back to long-johns every day we are dropping into the cold weather again here to. Praying for a mild winter. Not sure if I will be able to provide disabled riding with all the permit laws for ADA due to cost, it is a dream to give back, share and help people learn about the gift of the horse, mule and Donkey. 🙂
