The Rare Poitou Donkey

Select Everything You Could Ever Want To Know About The Poitou Donkey

Select Poitou Donkey, Pacific Northwest

“We recently brought home two donkeys with no papers one is named Oboe who we think is part Poitou donkey and the other is Tuba.  Not 100% sure if Oboe is indeed part Poitou unless we send in a hair sample to UC Davis to confirm,  for now I will just stick with thinking it! Oboe is very strong and has lot’s of the physical examples of the Poitou donkey except for the long, long hair. Thus why I think he is a part Poitou donkey. 🙂  Just look at his ears and body, he is one strong boy no matter we love him and this gives me the opportunity to share about this very rare breed.”

Oboe is on the left and Tuba the right. I am happy to share that both can now take a walk with me on the lead line around our twenty acre farm. Both can pick up their hooves without a lead line on and Oboe no longer requires sedation to get his hooves trimed.
