This is a Pega Donkey. Their country of origin is Brazil and that is where most continue to be bred today. Pega is considered a rare breed and the pure bloodlines are on the verge of extinction.
Pega Donkeys are known for being very docile, highly intelligent, agile and display tremendous dignity. The Pega donkey has an extraordinary gait and is traditionally used for breeding gaited mules.
