2020 is the year of sitting down and re-thinking how to keep our families and business healthy. How to adapt to our new way of life. For most of us, the pandemic created a dramatic change or shift in thinking and behavior. Are you a city person or a farm person?
Living on a farm seems to be a simpler way of life in so many ways living with covid our farm is truly a blessing. For us, the Covid was not much different than our normal life. You see, we have so much to do on the farm, each day the donkeys and horses and doggies need to be fed and cared for. Last spring my husband Scott planted the seed (hay) in the field during the beginning of the pandemic. While city folks were trying to find ways to adapt we were just living our natural way of life. The sad part was we could not have visitors on the farm, we look forward to having our most fragile world return to normal.
If you are having a hard time finding anything positive in 2020 let’s think outside the box. It’s easy to get caught up in what’s wrong in our lives and miss what’s positive or going well. If you have lost a loved one in 2020, I am deeply sorry for your pain I pray GOD gives you peace. I truly understand suffering and pain and my heart breaks for your pain. Please know this too shall pass. Jesus will bring peace “Start each day in prayer, meditating on the good things in your life.” Thank Jesus for something good in your life every day, God loves all of his children deeply.

Donkey Whisperer Farm ®
All equines are herd animals, but donkeys are especially bound by strong herd instincts. Donkey’s are considered “Species-Specific” which means they prefer to be with their own kind.
This is why two is a magic number. Two donkeys mean health, happiness and longevity. It has been shown that a single donkey, living alone, is more likely to suffer from psychological and physical health problems than two donkeys living together.
So, if you want less vet bills, less worry, a happy donkey and a healthy donkey, well, two is the magic number!
Congratulations you have prepared your farm for equine!
Now the real work begins. You are the owner of this beautiful equine a donkey, horse or mule. You the owner have responsibilities that must be maintained for the life span of your equine. Here are few issues to consider.
Have I Done My Homework?
The Donkey Whisperer Farm ® trains the owner to train the donkey. This is 100% successful in keeping the donkey(s) on your farm. When the owner is trained to be a fair leader and have a routine the donkey will stay with the owner and not be re-sold. Trauma can change this for the owner due to health and life issues. But in most cases even trauma victims want to keep their trained donkeys.
Do I Have Time To Train My Donkey?
Donkeys are smart not stubborn. Donkeys require humans to learn behavioral issues, signs of stress, fear and relaxation and have a plan each time we step into their world. Without a skill set the donkey will train the owner. Next the owner is frustrated and gives up. The donkey is sold and may or may not survive. A donkey who cannot have their hooves trimmed, a vet call etc., has a grim life.
Do You Want The responsibility?
Forget about the financial obligations, vet calls, hoof care, dental work, hay, fences, shelters. You can’t leave town! You cant leave your donkey alone without someone to feed and care for your donkeys. It is imperative you create a relationship built on a fair leadership program. All relationships take time and experiences. If we just throw the hay over the fence and provide the basic necessities in life for our donkey we will never become the fair leader our donkey desires. Safety is number one for both you and your donkey.
Training You The Owner To Train The Donkey
When you take the time to follow Donkey 101 and Donkey 102 your farm life will be easy. Your donkeys will follow you as a leader. Peace and Harmony is on your farm each time you step into your donkeys world. This will take you the owner learning how to lead your donkey every time you are with them. Consistent methods create excellence in our life in all areas.

Never drill, end the lesson on a good note. Spend no more than fifteen minutes at a time teaching. Next wait another day “ON DONKEY TIME” let your donkey soak and think. Once you the owner teach your donkey to trust you first. Teaching becomes fun and easy. Your donkey will never forget what you teach so be sure you are teaching your donkey correctly. We teach you how to teach words to your donkey not clicker training. Donkeys are visual learners and they have a photographic memory.

God knows what he is doing. Did you ever stop and think how some people are just placed in our life instantly? How some people are burned out of our life instantly? Its true. God knows what we need before we know what we need. God has a plan and this plan is much bigger than we could ever understand. GOD is the alpha omega the beginning and end. God has counted every hair on our head. God is in control of everything. Nothing happens by mistake. When we understand how GOD works with the universe and his children everything becomes peaceful. God in Jesus Christ name is amazing.
2018 is almost over, twelve months have passed one more time. This is the time to reflect on the year and look forward to the next, planning helps keep things in motion. If we start now things will be easier come January, February and March. Once you are in motion work hard to stay in motion. Do not let anyone take your dreams away from you. These dreams are gifts from GOD, if you want something bad enough you will go after it. Never give up!
Our farm is more than a business, our farm is our family.
Creating a farm takes lots of planning, savings and patience. The farm is a full-time investment of time, energy and funds. Each animal is unique, as time passes so does their health care requirements similar to people.
Why do people love owning a farm?
The farm is a wonderful place to work and relax at the same time. The human body was made to stay in motion. Not to sit around in front of the computer or other electronic devices. Fresh air and a purpose helps us sleep really hard at night.
The animals each have unique personalities and they are truly part of our life. We love each animal for life.
Farm visit do’s and don’ts or “Farm Etiquette”
You are visiting a working farm and a business. You are a guest on the farm. Please respect any rules and signs displayed at the farm.
Driving past a farm. Please slow down, do not honk your horn or throw food or garbage at the farm.
When you drive into a farm shut the gate behind you.
Leave your pets at home unless the farm specifies that pets are welcome. Most farms have their own animals.
Park your vehicle in designated areas only.
For your own safety, visit only identified areas.
Please keep an eye on your children to ensure a fun, safe visit.
Living on a farm brings all kinds of interesting insects and critters. Our last mini farm had black bear, cougars and bob cats in western WA.
This farm has some unique insects. Bees. We have been farming with no pesticides since 2013. Lady bugs are flying around everywhere this is a seriously good sign. Today we found bees drilling the sand and clay on our farm. They did not try to attack us.
Did you know Mason bees are useful for the farm?
Yes.
Before killing an insect we must be sure we know the purpose in mother nature. God created every creature to have a purpose.
