Flowers In August

For Just A Moment

Living in the Pacific Northwest summer is a treat. This year has been a year of less sunshine and more gray days, difficult for sure but all part of home. My garden is here for just a moment of time it seems. Soon it will be fall and the season will change again. For now I thank GOD for this moment in time. Look at my beautiful garden. Thank you Jesus!

Fresh Flowers Forever

Our first Thanksgiving in our new home. Fresh flowers are such an important part of my life, I truly savor each morning I get to enjoy fresh flowers. A little share into my life, I am a master gardener, my home of twelve years had fresh flowers I could cut fresh flowers ten months out of the year. I found these flowers at my grocery store while picking up the turkey, not really sure how I would place them in the vase.

Fresh flowers are simply beautiful, I wish I could freeze them in time.  Thank you Jesus as each day is precious and a gift from God. Tomorrow is unknown.

We purchased our farm land in 2013 with nothing on it, nothing, well two pear trees and one apple tree, a hay-field. My best friend and husband has worked so very hard next to me to make this a farm and our home. This is our forever home, we will live our last days here on earth. We lived in our 5th wheel for three years before getting to move into our home.

Fresh flowers have no place in tiny living. As you can see I am savoring each day I get to enjoy these beautiful flowers.

Matthew 6:25

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Select TOPIARY PLANTS I love it! The time and precise ability to make a plant look so alive is amazing. Gardening is truly one of my first loves. Now that we have moved to the farm I am working to grow food. Food for the donkeys and horses and food for me and my family to eat. Still I have a few surprises in my little garden. I do love the garden.

Itohs can be deadheaded as needed throughout the spring and summer. In autumn, cut back Itoh peoniesto about 4-6 inches up from the soil level. Like herbaceous peoniesItoh peonies will come back in spring from the ground. In fall, you can also divide Itoh peonies just as you would divide herbaceouspeonies.Oct 31, 2016

YOU ARE AMAZING

Wisteria “When To Prune”

Dear Friends Of The Donkey Whisperer Farm

If you have been following my blog since 2009 you know I am a serious gardener. Wisteria seems to take forever to mature and then it appears to be a big mess if we do not know how to manage it. One of the most important considerations before you plant this mysterious and elegant plant is to understand how to set this plant up for success. Some homes simply do not have enough space for the wisteria. I call this plant the fairy tale of gardens, the grace and elegance is beyond compare.

059 - Copy

  1. Make sure you have a strong arbor to support this beauty.
  2. Plant away from any structures, i.e., home etc. As this plant will seriously become invasive if you do not learn how and when to prune, manage the plant.
  3. Do not prune every year as you will have no flowers, just leaves.
