Dear Friends Of The Donkey Whisperer Farm
If you have been following my blog since 2009 you know I am a serious gardener. Wisteria seems to take forever to mature and then it appears to be a big mess if we do not know how to manage it. One of the most important considerations before you plant this mysterious and elegant plant is to understand how to set this plant up for success. Some homes simply do not have enough space for the wisteria. I call this plant the fairy tale of gardens, the grace and elegance is beyond compare.
- Make sure you have a strong arbor to support this beauty.
- Plant away from any structures, i.e., home etc. As this plant will seriously become invasive if you do not learn how and when to prune, manage the plant.
- Do not prune every year as you will have no flowers, just leaves.
