First and foremost, thank you for being a loyal St. Jude supporter. Every donation counts and every one is appreciated!

We contacted the event organizers after seeing your post and a petition that was in circulation. The organizers of this event felt that they always handled their animals humanely, but decided to eliminate the donkey roping event because they did not want any donors to be concerned. They have already modified their flyers and they would certainly appreciate any donations to their event benefiting the kids of St. Jude.

    Thank you again!

Thank you! God bless you for taking this extra step to stop this horrible abuse of Donkey Roping. I will pass this on to all of the supporters of treating donkeys with ethical care. Melody Johnson,

UPDATE 3/26/27

I contacted St. Jude Hospital yesterday and they were not aware of this event. We have been donating to St. Jude’s children’s hospital for years. They are going to ask for a cease as this is not what they are about. I called the event planner of this at the cowboy church yesterday too and he was rude and said he was not stopping this event. Please sign the petions inside my blog where it say select Take Action. GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged! Melody

SELECT Take Action to stop donkey roping and please re-blog. It is very difficult to donkeys trust humans again after these events! Donkey roping usually ends up seriously hurting the donkey and they are put down. The reasons they are used for roping is in extreme fearful places donkeys will FREEZE, making it easier for the roper to practice on.

SELECT Take Action sign and share the SAFE ACT (reblog).

Rio says “Save a mini donkey and standard donkey and ride a Mammoth donkey” Weight limit of riding any donkey is 20% including the saddle. To learn more about what I do to educate and train owners to help a owner teach their donkey to trust again, pick up the hooves without fighting, stand ground tied, send into a stall and turn around to take off the halter, go for a walk and more please go DONKEYWHISPERERFARM.COM.

GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged!
