We have been working really hard to finish our home. Mr. Rocket Man age 24 one of our mini donkeys refused to eat his vitamin until he had his love. Donkeys are not stubborn. Donkeys are smart. Donkeys are emotional and analytical at the same time.
Miniature donkeys cannot defend themselves from the predator and some older and slower donkeys standard and mammoth cannot. A cougar or wolf is a serious threat.
We love living on our farm theDonkey Whisperer Farm. Every blessing is from GOD in Jesus Christ name,we thank GOD every day for this farm. Dogs are a huge part of keeping our farm working to live in peace and harmony. Predators will destroy your farm. If you are looking for a livestock guarding dog we highly recommendMarble Peaks Anatolian and Shepherd Rest Anatolian breeders.
Please remember the Anatolian dog is not for the beginner dog owner. This breed requires a fair human leader, a fence and is a self-thinker. This breed is not for the beginner dog owner. Large fenced farms are a requirement as these dogs love to bark, run and dig!
The Anatolian is a serious dog, built to remove predators from the farm. It is our belief all animals require clean water, fences and shelter to get out of the elements. A vet is required for all animals just like people need to see a doctor. Common sense is vital to the health of your farm animals and the farm you manage. Please do your homework before making the decision to bring the Anatolian into your life. These dogs do not enjoy change, they need a fair leader just like the donkey.

2017 is our year! This has been a long process of praying, planning and waiting for the exact right time.
Things To Consider Before You Start To Build
Marrigage – Did you plan your dreams with your partner? If not things could get rocky. Marriage is a give and take each must learn to let go. ReadHow to stay married while building.
Land – Will you purchase the land or use your builders land? If you use the builders land the builder may or may not want you to use their builder and cookie cutter plans. These plans will not be your custom plans.Do your homework, easements, wetlands, etc., are important before purchasing land with nothing on it.
Working with an architect is not always easy. Just like everything in life you must do some work if your goal is excellence. Interview and research to find the right architect who is willing listen to you, build your home not their creative project. This is your money. Try to find an architect that actually has experienced building a home from beginning to end. Some never get out of the office.
Learning to read the house drawings. Ask you architect before you start paying and working with him/her to teach you how to read the drawings. This seems to get lost in the middle of the storm of creating the house.
Read your contract
The builder must follow the contract i.e., you asked for a certain size (material) of window, door this must be installed. No cheap stuff can be exchanged without your signature on the contract.
Change orders is a NO, NO. Do not do re-work, make sure all of your house is in 3D to walk around inside your home before signing off on the house. This will save you tears and money. When you have a great builder everything is wonderful. Let the experts take care of your home the first time correctly. The cost to do re-work is too expensive both financially and emotionally.
Live on your land for at least one to two years. Why? Neighbors, noise, weather helps determine where you want to place your home. We lived on our land for two years before construction started, this has been an invaluable experience in determining where to place the home on our farm.
Do your homework before purchasing your land, easements, wetlands, etc., are important before purchasing land with nothing on it.
The most important person to hire is your builder. Meet people who have used the builder, ask to walk in and see their work. A good builder will have references. Interview at least three builders in your area.
Finally it’s time to build. Make sure your builders contract reflects you do not want garbage left on your property, loud music blasting, cigarets, food thrown about. Write this on the contract.Install video surveillance! Be sure to keep outstanding records and an outstanding budget. Did you know you will pay tax for building your home? Yes!
Did you know building a home is stressful? Yes! Dreams and reality sometimes do not match depending on your pocket-book. The computer is your friend for design ideas and it’s free. Use this tool save yourself money with a fancy designer. Be sure to send photos to your builder.
I love the beginning of the new year as this is a time to reflect on our past dreams and goals. Thank GOD for all of our blessings. Plan for the new year projects and goals as some dreams were planned years ahead and now they are ready to be born. Living on a farm teaches life has seasons.
Spring, summer, fall and winter:
All of these seasons are very important for the farm crops to grow. Just like the farm has seasons so do people.
Time management is important as our world is spinning faster and faster each and every day.
The difference in completing goals and not is making a plan, asking experts for help. Education is a life long process, the mind needs to continue learning to stay strong. I enjoy teaching just as much as I enjoy learning. No one can do everything without help, sometimes it is hard to ask for help. We all need one another to make the world a better place. I enjoy training the owner to train the donkey. Why? Donkeys are smart not stubborn. The donkey is always looking for a leader who is fair. Never for a bully or abuser.
We pray, wait and work hard for everything we do. Patience is very important while waiting depending on the issue and our personality this can be easy or difficult. This I know for sure. If I do not pray, prepare and plan nothing will change. I want to try to make a difference in this great big world.
Training Donkeys Takes Having A Plan:
Donkeys are smart not stubborn!
Donkeys look over a human in a matter of seconds and before you know it the donkey has trained the human to do exactly what the donkey wants.
Or
The donkey will not engage at all!
The donkey places humans in one of three categories in a matter of seconds:
Treat dispenser
Fair leader
or
Abuser
Did I tell you Donkeys are Smart!
Did You Know Your Donkey Has A Personality?
The personality of your donkey can be the same as your personality or not. Makes no difference as training the donkey successfully depends on you the owner learning how to have a plan and control your emotions. Match the energy and personality that shows up on your farm. Never drill your donkey, stay ON DONKEY TIME kinda like beach time.

After surviving a life threatening motor vehicle accident I was stuck in bed and a chair for most of three years. I attended physical therapy for three years, two and three times a week. I wore my horse riding gloves to the gym when I lifted weights so I could see myself riding again. People are visual learners too! Select GOD Created A Miracle For Meto read about my journey.
Mind Over Pain And Sorrow:
I had a choice to give up or trust GOD!
My husband of twenty-four years made the choice to keep our little farm and not give up. He is an amazing man.
My husband gave me audio of the bible to listen to when I was not strong enough to lift the bible and read it. Select Audio bible.
Our marriage grew stronger not weaker during this time of pain and suffering.
I learned to not worry about the little things. Pay attention to the good things in life. The news, social media is geared to negative attention. I refused to put any negative information in my head. The pain was constant and this in itself was enough negative energy.
Love Life. Share love, I learned to Blog and I gave free donkey training lessons to people who owned donkeys all over the world. I wanted to continue to use my brain and help others. This is something the bible teaches us. Stop thinking about ourselves and help others. Not easy to do in the beginning but the more you do it the better you feel.
Stop feeling bad about everything I failed at. Let it go! Look forward as GOD gave us eyes in the front of our head for a reason. Learn from our past mistakes but move on!
Meet people, rejoice, laugh, smile and understand that I am lucky. Many people had it much harder than me.
Live my life with a gratefulattitude. Surround myself with positive people and energy.
Dream! Never stop dreaming it is never to late to live your life with passion.
GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged!
