Do your homework before you purchase the ANATOLIAN SHEPHERD. This breed is not for the beginner, needs a fence, a fair leader and a job. Exercise is a must. A healthy diet, shedding is a big Yes. Digging, yes. Barking yes. Is it worth it to keep your farm safe? Yes.
The Anatolian Shepherd does not like change so if you decide on this breed you cannot give up. Your dog needs you to be a fair leader 100% of the time. Your dog needs you to care, too many of these dogs are thrown away due to people not understanding the breed is a serious working dog.
You must be fenced and we suggest double fenced with hot wire. This dog is a serious livestock guarding dog. Please note; if you choose this breed your life will never be the same. Kinda like owning a donkey, the dog has a mind of his/her own and is a self-thinker.

They are gorgeous adogables!
Totally gorgeous unlike my spoilt Labrador Dudley, they also have a job I gather…
Hi yes they do. They are livestock guarding dogs, protecting the farm. We do not have a coyote problem at all. 🙂 We have a tiny cairn terrier too.
Bless them all. I don’t my Labrador would be up to the same duties guarding our home but then you never know…he could surprise us.
